Jim Geach has always lived in Cornwall and originally worked in Compare
Maxam for 24 years before starting his taxi business in 1998. Jim and
his wife Janet decided to form Travel 4000 so to develop a broader business
base for group and specialised travel. In 2004, they officially became
recognised business partners.
Jim Geach has been a highly prominent member of the community for many
years. He has served as a local county councillor, as well as devoting
a significant part of his spare time to members of the community and chairing
a number of committees including Cornwall Community Health Council, as
well as being a School Governor to a number of the local area's schools
and a member of the renowned Holman-Climax male voice choir.Janet jointly
runs the administration side of the business with Jim, as well as assisting
to provide and deliver the various contracts in the public sector the
company undertakes. This comes from her own extensive background and participation
in the public sector, as well as operating in a playgroup in Camborne.
Janet has also been very prominent in the local community through her
activities at Camborne Parish Church. For a number of years, she was a
church warden, as well as a Sunday school teacher for the under 7's, and
the chairman of the social committee.
